HS and I today (11/09) took my cousin to Wulai, a little town nestled in the mountains about a 30 minute drive south of Taipei. I've been to Wulai a couple of times to soak in some of the hotsprings in the area but never have I gone to see the waterfall there, the most famous attraction in the area.

I went to visit our company's bike factory in Shenzhen (深圳) this past week and it was very interesting to finally see how the bikes we sell are made.

I saw my first mixed martial arts event (MMA) last night (10/25) at the Youth Activity Center here in Taipei. Two guys from our BJJ club were on the fight card and they both ended up trouncing their opponents. It was a great night of watching fights!

I've been busy settling into my new job during the past month or so. The company I now work for makes folding bikes and one of the perks of the job is that I get to test ride all sorts of new bikes. On Saturday (10/18) Byron and Mark from the bike blog site Bikehugger.com were in town and dropped by for a ride with us.

My old clunker bike gets me around my neighborhood quickly and efficiently. It has a nifty basket in which I can carry groceries and other stuff that needs carrying. Unfortunately, every so often people use it as a trash bin.

Taiwan has been influenced greatly by Japan in terms of politics, education and technology. One particulary popular cultural import is manga-styled comic books and the obsession with school girls as objects of lust.
