I ate at a McDonald's near my house one day and when I went to put some garbage into the trash bin, I was put into a bit of a quandary. 

Sometimes revelation and inspiration come to you like butterflies flying in a field. You can walk for a long time and not see a single thing when suddenly a multitude of butterflies come fluttering by, each a different size and shape, but all beautiful and unique in their own right.

Aside from all the noise, traffic and other big-city hassles that afflict Taipei, there are little nature sanctuaries where one can escape to with relative ease and speed. There is a huge nature area called the Fuyang Eco Park just a 15 minute walk from where I live, where you can go to escape the heat of the day and watch butterflies float about and get back in touch with Nature.
