I came across this poem in an old notebook I kept my Chinese study notes in. The entry was marked July 29, 2003. I vaguely recall having a weird dream just before waking one morning and writing down these lines. What was I thinking?
Taipei 2003.7.29 Furious Angels An uprising swelling from the pith of your heart Seething, surging, rending, not going to stop. Bursting your ribs, cracking your skull . . . Consuming from within . . . going out of control. Stare the Beast in the eye, you melt away Enveloped by the fury that is here to stay. |
