A sleepy Harley This is Harley, a white labrador retrevier that lives on the corner of my block. He's usually a bit groggy in the morning after just waking up, though he's usually up way earlier than I am.
He's acutally probably a bit annoyed at me in this picture as I try to coax him into doing some sort of pose. Harley is a celebrity of sorts in the neighborhood with everyone calling by name when they go past him on the corner. He'll usually break out of his sedate stupor and stand up and wag his tail vigorously when you approach to pet him. Pretty mellow dog. It's hard to raise a big-sized dog like Harley in a city like Taipei. Down south, in the countryside, it's perhaps easier to raise a dog and allow it to run around and get plenty of exercise the way they should. Usually in Taipei you'll more likely to see a Pomeranian or similar mini-dog being carried around on the street by its owner. I find it all kind of silly, really. Dogs and animals in general should be walked and allowed to run around on their own, not carried and pampered like some baby. |
