 Two boys set out from their Artic village one day to go ice fishing, each bringing an ice pick to dig a hole in the ice and their fishing rods.
The boys split up to fish in separate areas to increase their chances of getting fish.
The first boy poked at the ice here and there with his ice pick, but he never settled on any one particular location. The other boy, on the other hand, looked around a little bit but then chose a spot put his stuff down and started digging away at the ice. The first boy kept wandering, looking here and there, but never being satisfied with any one place. The second boy, in the meantime, kept digging at the same one place and his hole in the ice started getting deeper and bigger. Soon, he had broken through the ice and he started fishing. The first boy, however, was still poking around the ice. The second boy soon had caught his fill and packed up and headed back to his igloo to cook the fish he had caught. The first boy was still poking around in the snow. |
